My Romeo

I love you Graham Allen Morrison. Thank you for asking me for forever...I love you so much and I am so blessed to be called your wife.

Thank yous....

Thank you ladies who stood beside me on this huge day in my life...Robyn, Kelly, Lanier, Summer, Krystal, HB and Laura...I had so much thinking about what dress you would wear, talking to you on the phone or email throughout the 5 months of our engagement, planning and thinking about veils and music and twinkly lights and most of all having you be apart of this life changing day with me. I picked you for a reason. Yes I needed someone to make me laugh (summer) when I got nervous or someone to give me a hug (lanier) right before they moved those double doors- - - but more importantly I needed accountability. When things are tough and hard and frustrating I know that you can help me remember my wedding day, the vows that were spoken and the covenant that was made. Thank you for standing beside me on May 24, 2009 and for the days to come.
Thank you summer for making that sash juuuuuuuuuuuust right.

And Lanier for helping Cindy fix my veil...

Robyn you are awesome for getting that bug/spider out of my dress so that it didn't become a permanent decorative piece.

And sis for helping me put on my shoes so that I could walk down the aisle in style...

A beautiful life

I miss this house. I miss the street. I miss all of our late night walks, mid day walks and making this house our first home after coming back from our honeymoon. Don't get me wrong, I love the new house, we have big God sized plans and we are happy there - but this week I have been sentimental. The other night when I was waiting for Allen to meet me for Chinese I drove by 2154. I thought about all the features in the house that I miss. I miss sitting on the couch in our living room and just talking. I miss the tiny outdated kitchen. I miss the back porch with the big glass windows.
As we packed up the house it felt less and less like ours, and more like an empty house. I think that if I were to walk in there today I would just cry. I get attached to things easily if they represent memories of joy and happiness to me. This house, as much work as it needed - as much as I complained about the overcrowded basement - it was a place of such LOVE. I told Allen that I loved him for the first time in that house, we dreamed about marriage in that house, we painted kitchens and dining rooms and Allen re -tiled floors. I mentally planned out a nursery and we opened that house to friends and family whenever they needed it. We came home from our honeymoon and enjoyed almost a whole year of marriage in that house. We laughed and made smores in the fireplace and got our first Christmas tree.....

This new house will hold many many amazing memories of love too....but I will never ever forget that beautiful home and all the memories that it holds for me. I know Allen has many more since he grew up with that as his grandparents house and lived there in college. Sometimes its just hard to let go.

a great start to an end

So its about 10 minutes into the last day of the school year and a student just threw up in the hallway. I ran inside my classroom because I just can't deal with that right now...known in my family for having a weak stomach.

Welcome to the last day of school!

Packing Up

We have finally reached that time again...the last day of school. As a student I loved the last day of school. Signing yearbooks, teachers were laid back, knowing there was no homework, the happy but sad emotions throughout the hallways knowing you wouldn't see some people until the next year. Good times.

Experiencing it as a teacher though is quite the different story. Oh I am glad that there is the end of the school year on the calender. I am very glad that it is tomorrow but the last day of school is SO pointless. Students are told not to bring anything to school, not even a pencil so they know that they are not doing any work. I have been watching the same scenes from Apollo 13 over and over again because we have 5 periods of students to get through. We have the students that are sweet and want to tell you how much fun they had in your class. I like those students. Lets just have those students for the last day of school ;). We also get the students who say "today is the last day i have to see you again right?" haha....they think that there 11 year old little words cause insult. That's what I want to tell them anyway, but no one wants to hear that you don't want to be seen anymore. Oh well, teenage girls - after teaching them I just can't wait to raise one! (insert sarcasm here). So the last day of school we welcome them in, show them movies, feed them, put them on the bus and then say "Have a wonderful Summer!" and wave happily goodbye.

We are left to pack up our rooms, clean out our desks and check of lists so that we the teachers can be free for summer. I like lists, I used to like them a lot more and I defiantly like MY lists better than the "teacher" lists...its 3 whole pages!!

But really I can't complain, I have 2 whole months off to enjoy any way I want and I am beyond happy about that! Summer 2010 is going to be seriously awesome. Just wait....
