After a day with me

This how it happened. I was just poking around looking at target this past Saturday. I decided to sit down and test out a chair. The chair was comfy and nice so I decided to stay awhile. It went downhilll from there.
Allen says " hey whit, how long do you think we might sit here?"
Its only 1 o'clock but its been a pretty eventful Saturday, I might wanna go home and take a nap.

I respond with, "oh? I thought we were going to the mall after this?"

At this point we just got silly.

The End.

love in a box

Dear Krispy Kreme,
Thank you for making amazing doughnuts. I especially liked the heart shaped ones inspired by Valentines Day. I wish there was a way you could take out all the fat and sugar but your doughnuts taste so good I don't really care.
Sincerely,
Sugar addict

no title for this post

So this past weekend was valentines. I never have really gotten into valentines. The last time I really remember making a big deal out of the holiday was in 8th grade. I had this "boyfriend" who I had never met ( a friend of mine at the time had set us up so we were a couple across the phone- - i know -- lame) and I found out that he was not going to send me a valentine to school. I guess I had this high expectation that some 13 year old would send me flowers to my middle school, I don't know why this made complete sense to me.
So the brilliant person that I was I decided to "fake" a valentines from him. I got my parents to take me to Revco (now CVS) and I bought myself a huge chocolate box that said I LUV U on the front. I got to school realllllly early that day. Walked in and said hello to my teacher and then ever so slyly and secretly (i was the only one in the class) I placed it on my desk. I even went as far so to write my card with my left hand so that no one could compare handwriting and say that I staged this gorgeous chocolate gift. HA! wow, was i pathetic or what?!! I laugh so hard when I think about that valentines.

So valentines has always been a cute holiday but one that I really don't remember paying much attention to. Hardly even noticing the red and pink and white cards in target or other such stores.

And I am okay with that. I have always been okay with that.

This year I had fun though. I really celebrated it. We had fun. We put pink heart icing on our Cinnamon rolls Saturday morning, allen brought me heart shaped doughnuts Sunday morning with gorgeous flowers, and I bought him all of his favorite things (ex. bold flavored chex mix, dark chocolate with raspberry and vitamin water to name a few). Allen took me out on Saturday night to a fancy shmancy but cool reasturant overlooking the snow covered Piedmont park at sunset.....

Sunday we did dinner our way with pizza and a delecious salad at home with the office and lots of glowing candels. We had some tasty wine from Italy and some cute pink/white/red brownies....

here's to Valentines 2010!

Valentines

Here's to:

a holiday celebrating the most amazing thing in the whole world

showing that red, pink, and white colors look so happy together

a time to tell those that you care about that you love them

remembering that this "love" thing is so far beyond our comprehension. Because we can't fully understand the amazing, patient and everlasting love that our Heavenly Father has for us every single second of our lives.

thought

life's a 'changin . . .

I am so thankful that I get to walk beside allen. I admire him so much. I am so happy to be with him. He loves me more than anyone else I know. I am excited to see where God takes us on this next big step, and I want it to be where God takes us not where we take ourselves. I totally believe that He is in charge and that HE is who HE says HE is. So I am trusting in his love and his protection.

5 words to learn today

Today we are teaching about the Mexican economy and their federal republic style of government. Here are some words you should add to your vocabulary because 6th graders are learning them....

1. maquiladora- a factory that imports duty free parts from the united states to make products that it then exports back across the border

2. privatizaiton- the process of replacing community ownership with individual, or private ownership.

3. Carlos Salinas de Gortari- president of Mexico, 1991 who changed the ejido system.

4. nationalize- when the government decides to establish control of a service or industry..

5. distrubtion- the process of moving products to their markets.

sugar coated love is in the air...

I couldn't help myself. Sitting on the red and pink covered aisles at target I spotted these. I love these little hearts. Not so much for the taste but for the memories of getting them on valentines day and reading all the little messages. Pink paper hearts, valentines slipped through lockers and glittery red stickers are some of my favorite.

I am addicted to...

Yes that is right. I don't know what is going on, but I cannot get enough of these peppers. I am adding them to my pizza, to salads and last night to our mac and cheese. It was soooooooooo good. Gotta enjoy the small things :)
