window washer

Eli the mischievous dog...

Yesterday morning I took care of Eli i.e. fed him, took him outside, played with him and put him back up in his crate. I decided to take a shower so that I could get a start on the day and just as I was putting soap in my hair, Eli magically runs in the bathroom with my underwear and starts to wrestle with the bath mat. I stare at him not understanding how he got out of his crate when he runs out and I hear a huge crash. Covered in soap I cannot get out to see what he is doing but pray silently that it is not glass or anything major. For the next 5 minutes I continue to hear Maggie barking, Eli running around and things falling.

I finally managed to get out him and bring him back in the bathroom where he decided to take it upon himself to clean our shower for us.

Who knew? This mountain dog is really a window washer!

scattered

scattered thoughts at 12am

We are not a fan of comcast and so we have decided not to renew our cable. Instead we are waiting for AT&T u-verse (we had it at McKinley and loved it) and in the meantime supplementing with netflix. Combine that with waiting on workmen in the house (replacing stairs) and feeling downright awful, I have watched the entire season of Law and Order 6Th edition, and the first season of the Hills. I have also watched the movies "The business of being born" and "Confessions of a shopaholic".

I am currently on the law and order 5th edition. TV sometimes makes me more awake than asleep.

Lately, I cannot get enough apple juice. So yum.

Our new puppy is really sweet. I mean really sweet. Working on being house broken, but really really sweet.

I need to get my eyebrows waxed and don't really mind the pain. Why do I put it off? I mean I can be in the parking lot and say to myself " i will just come back tomorrow."

Allen and I needed insulation in our attic for our house to be "up to code" and also for our electric bill to be much more in our price range. We decided to go the cheap route and blow in our own insulation. UM that was not fun. I am so thankful I have a handy husband. He saved us so much money. WE are also lucky to have good friends that put their Saturday on hold to help us out. I am happy to say that our house is SO much cooler. ye haw!

Our good friends Sarah and Patrick came for a visit this past weekend. We took them to a neighborhood restaurant " Carvers Country Kitchen" and they are big fans. I got their chicken pot pie today and I think I will stick to the country friend steak. Maggie liked the chicken pot pie though!

Thanks for dropping by and listening to random thoughts. I have felt like a zombie these past few days with the nausea, headaches, lack of energy and um not going to the bathroom the past 7 days. Hey - just tellin it like it is!

Eli vs Maggie

Its a dog eat dog world...

well, that's a saying but I don't really get it nor does it apply to my life at the moment! Maggie (our super mutt age 3) is not a fan of Eli (our new golden retriever/border terrier age like 12 weeks).

Maggie and returned from two weeks at the beach and to her surprise there was this new little creature in her crate, drinking out of her water bowl, and wanting my attention as well as Allen's.

She is a social dog but I think that it will take her some time to get used to him. For example, this morning I woke up to let the puppy out and Maggie took one look at me opening up his crate and she went back to her bed.

Eli is so different from Maggie. Not only in looks but in temperament. Eli likes action and runs and runs. Maggie as a puppy and now is very mellow. Plus Eli's paws have somehow grown enormous and I have a feeling that he is not going to be as small as he was promised to be.

Pictures to come and hopefully some videos of their new "friendship"

2-6

Today is my last day to be 26....

26 was pretty awesome. Experienced my first year of marriage while I was 26, bought our first home while I was 26 and those are just milestones. This year was pretty amazing and I am so thankful for all the good as well as all the bad because I really feel like I have learned a lot and grown a lot.

So as a last hurrah to be 26, I think I will spend the day between the beach and the pool and enjoy the sunshine!

2 vactions + a car wreck

Yesterday started off fabulous. I am at the beach. I am with family. I woke up late late late and had a wonderful cup of joe. Made plans to go on a walk with a friend so got in the car and headed that way. As I was stopped at a traffic light I looked up in my rear view mirror and noticed a red mustang speeding towards me. No reaction time left me with a scream when the driver drove into the back of my car, jolting my upper torso forward and almost slamming into the red truck in front of me. The angels of heaven were watching over me, because if I had been pushed into the truck in front of me I have no doubt that my air bag would have deployed causing more injury than harm.

We pulled over and did the responsible thing like notifying the police and checking with each other to make sure we were okay. I told her that I didn't think I was and would be heading to the doctor once the police were finished. Then I just lost it. I really cried. Car wrecks can be so startling and scary and if you looked at the damage left on my car you would think it was so minor but being jolted like that and having my car pushed forward so fast out of my control just really got to me. I just lost it emotionally.

So the police came yada yada and we left. I talked to dr at the local clinic and he told me to make my way over to the ER, which I was not up for so I am headed to the clinic later today. Besides some abnormal collarbone and neck pain I feel better than I did yesterday.

I really believe that the driver was texting. I can't know that for sure, but I don't see how someone could be driving the normal speed when everyone else was stopped at a traffic light. So if you text while driving (guilty on more than one occasion) be smart and just put down the phone. No text message is worth the damage that it can cause. I know that this drivers possible mistake really taught me a valuable lesson.

introducing.....

Eli our new puppy!!!.... he is a mix between a border terrier and a golden retriever...I know hard to believe but I saw the other pups from his litter.

We found him in the mountains and his old mountain man face stole our heart. I know, we're suckers!

More pics to come later !
